and parents. A weekly newsletter would be optimal but may be impractical, however. As a teacher, I will try to create one as often as possible.

one paragraphCreating the newsletter was interesting. I had to put myself in the perspective of a teacher who was actually commenting on a class that I do not actually teach. That being said, I enjoyed trying to envision a class and how I should convey my intentions for the class with the parents. As a teacher, I feel it would be very important to keep the parents involved in the learning process. For a long time in a child's life, the parents are the biggest source of information. Parents provide a major influence in the life of the student and, as such, should be involved in the student's learning process. As a result, a teacher should be easily accessible to the parents. This means providing multiple means of communication and a quick response time. This newsletter is also a great way to promote communication between teacher and parents.

I have taken the time to create a little video to help the students become more familiar with this vocabulary. You can view the video on youtube by searching my name with slope. I hope this will be a memorable way to introduce this vocabulary.
    Activities of the Week
This week plays host to a number of in-class activities to make the students active learners in the classroom. The students will choose objects around the room and apply them to our lesson. They will create stories and creative problems to solve with a partner. I hope to pique their interest in math and have them actively participate in the learning process.
